Deviation Actions
Recently, I became aware of the fact that, since the introduction of the Critique Feature, many non-subscribers who had previously been receiving feedback on their work were suddenly being completely overlooked. This surprised me quite a bit, so I decided to seek an expression of interest for a weekly news article that featured about 15 non-subscribers and two pieces of their work that they want good, thoughtful and in-depth feedback on.
The result was, quite simply, really positive. I received a lot of submissions and now have enough for about three weeks of these news features, each of which will be posted on either a Saturday or Sunday (Australian EST). There is nothing preventing us from critiquing non-subscribers (or even subscribers, for that matter!) using the comment system, so with this project I intend to generate community interest so that people with all sorts of artistic talent in a wide range of areas can receive great feedback. So, without further ado, allow me to officially begin this project with Critique for Non-Subscribers; Issue 1!
What is your task?
The point of this entire project is to get you, subscribers and non-subscribers alike, to use the general comment system to leave some good (thoughtful and in-depth), honest critiques on some of the following pieces (this could be as many as all of them or as few as just one! All that matters is getting great feedback for the overlooked non-subscribers!), or even to just encourage critiquing those who don’t have access to the Critique Feature.

I hoped that the new look would twist the peoples minds about which of the characters are good, who is evil, etc.”

Why aren’t I offering my services as a critic?
If I were to do that, I would have to limit this to deviants who only do a few select things (for example, photography), because I'm simply not qualified to critique everything that people want feedback on. With this idea, there’s a range of art available to be critiqued and the entire community in which to find someone able to be a critic for other mediums (such as literature, traditional/digital art, and so on).
So, feel free to browse the Features, and if you’re inspired to give some great feedback, please do!
This Project will be back next week with another 15 Deviants! If you'd like to be included in an upcoming Issue, feel free to note me (with the subject 'Critique for Non-Subscribers') or check my journal for links to my current Thumbshare thread.
Please be aware that this is not intended to generate argument for or against the Critique Feature! This is intended to assist the overlooked artists who are as deserving as anyone else to receive comments designed to improve their work.

Faulty Gravity Another day, another story. The gym is stagnant with the uncomfortable smell of sweat and teenage breath. You are adults now, a small man in a suit stutters in front of the crowd. Act like adults, he tells us. He is the principal.
I’m reminded of an essay about graduating I once read. The author claimed that if we really acted like adults, the first thing we would do is unionize, march up to the office, and demand better conditions.
Graduating is a privilege, not a right, the little man at the front continues. By now, we’ve heard this speech many times. Backpack zippers crackle as students become fidgety. A row of teachers against the far wall glare at point sources of buzzing whispers. They want a pay raise, but the state has bigger worries than the not-so-distant future.

A Couple of Updates
So, as always, Uni and such have a habit of taking over. I guess this is just a quick little update to keep everything in order.
PMDU has officially opened! Which means my team has been designed and submitted, and I'm planning out their stories and such-like, now. I've got a couple of major plot points that I do intend to explore during the missions. It's kind of exciting for me because it's a weird concept that I'm really new to, having characters with stories I want to tell, but knowing I have to be adaptable because I have no idea what missions and events are going to come next. In any case, I think having the major plot points will help,
Quick Update (PDL/PMDU/Life in General)
So, I had to disappear for a few weeks because Uni has a habit of eating up my time, and I'm still not adept at managing my Uni life, work life, social life and internet life. But here's a quick little update for everyone.
Life in General
Has anyone bought a Wacom from the online Australian store? Does anyone know how long they usually take to ship out?
I ordered the new Intuos 5 a few days ago, the money has left my account and everything, but the order still says 'Processing'. I really wanted it this week to do my PDL NPC Round. :grump:

Like I say, I wanted to do my NPC Round on the Intuos, because I wanted to draw the two pictures o
Welp, PDL results came out
I didn't pass R1. :(
So I've been through my disappointment stage today. It was a bit of a mistake checking right as class started, because it put me in a bad mood for that, but oh well.
Anyway, now that I've thought about it, I don't mind so much. I mean, I was really excited for PDL, don't get me wrong. But I decided on a whim to really really try with the anatomy and backgrounds, and now that I've talked myself into it I can't convince myself to stop. Why would I? I have a lot to learn, and who better to do it with than a character I really like, with a story I have so much more to do with?
So I'm still going to hang around PDL. I'll st

Update:
I've decided, yeah, I will make Nadia a tumblr. Yeah, it's going to suck more time out of things but I haven't been this fond of an OC in a while. Plus, with the PDL chatroom only ever having two or three of us there, and it's mostly just me there alone, I feel like I'm missing out on all the really fun stuff over there.
So that will be a thing.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So, Round One of PKMN-DreamLabs (https://www.deviantart.com/pkmn-dreamlabs) finished today. As you can see, I got everything done. Splash pages are hard for me for a number of reasons, but I'm really proud of what I managed. I decid
